The purpose of these actions are:
(1) to restore fishpond habitat for the endangered and depleting fish life on and around the shore lines of Kauai.
(2)Prevent mangrove encroachment from degrading archaeological features which contributes to Alakoko being designated in the register of historical places
(3)clear clogged and blocked makaha and repair of wall between the ponds and huleia river with the aim of improving water circulation through the ponds and mitigating lowland flooding from tides and heavy rains.
This project would continue to expand on habitat improvement efforts outlined in the final fish and wildlife management plan for subsistence life style for our community
